Carolyn Ward of TVA, along with Sean Edmondson and Miller Dendy of Natchez Trace Electric Power Association presented the Houston Career and Technology Education Center with a $5,000 Grant. The money is to be used to update and rebuild the Houston Solar Car.
Mrs. Ward has offered to send linemen and electricians to come and speak to Houston CTE students about possible careers with Natchez Trace and TVA. She told the students that only one semester of training as a lineman can lead to a future career that can put them in a job making over $100,000/year.
Teresa Moore, Houston CTE Director, looks forward to a future partnership with Natchez Trace and TVA to help guide students into the electrical career.
