Exploring Computer Science students have been learning to read and write binary code through a hands-on project. Using 6 beads per row to represent 0s and 1s, they spelled their names in binary and created their own keychains. This activity helps them visually understand how computers store information while applying what they’ve learned. It’s a great example of CTE learning in action—combining academic concepts with real-world, hands-on skills.
Health Science and Veterinary Science students spent time in the lab today exploring the cardiovascular system. They dissected deer hearts while practicing proper PPE use and identifying and discussing the structures and functions of the heart. Hands-on activities like this help connect classroom learning to real-world skills.

Happy Counselor’s Week to our wonderful CTE counselor, Mrs. Ivy! Thank you for the care, dedication, and encouragement you give to our students and staff every single day. Your support truly makes a difference, and it never goes unnoticed. We are so grateful for all you do and so lucky to have you as part of the Houston CTE family!

Mrs. Moss BMF students are stepping into the role as real world marketers by analyzing commercials to uncover who brands are really targeting.

Health Science students are selling raffle chances for a gift basket to help support their class and lab activities. Chances are $5 for one or $20 for five. If you are interested in purchasing chances, please see any Health Science student, Mrs. Griffin, or Mrs. Myatt. The drawing will be held on Friday, February 13th.

Merry Christmas from the Houston CTE Center!
Our teachers, their families, and CTE students were excited to take part in the 75th Annual Houston Christmas Parade this week. The float highlighted each of our CTE programs and the amazing students who represent them. It was a great opportunity for our programs to come together and celebrate the start of the holiday season with our community.
