Today was an exciting day for our students at Houston Lower! We held our first school-wide assembly of the school year. Students learned about the three R's and what each one means. They met our School Resource Officer, Ms. Linda Griffin, and Mrs. Tedder gave them a quick tour of our shopping cart, where they can shop with their Topper Tokens. We have had the best first week, and we can't wait for the rest of our school year!
Today, some of our first graders got to help say our morning announcements with Mrs. Naugle! This privilege is given when students move their clips all the way up our behavior ladder! Help us tell them good job for working so hard.

HLES would like to congratulate our very own Hallie Brister on earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education, and April McMullen on earning her Educational Specialist Degree!

HLES will be having a retirement party on May 21 from 1:00 to 2:00 to celebrate the retirement of Tonya Carter. She has been a wonderful, dedicated teacher at HLES for many years, and she will be greatly missed. We wish her the best in her future endeavors!
