🦋 Our Butterfly Garden renovations have been underway at the Lower.
Mrs. Dendy's first-grade Art students have been painting rocks that were generously donated to us by Mrs. Petti Pettit. Today, we got to place our first class's rocks in the garden. 🦋

It's the GOAT day!!! (Greatest of all Time.) Our tiny toppers (and teachers😉) showed up and showed out today. We love seeing their creativity and personalities shine.

🎉HLES is beginning our annual popcorn 🍿 fundraiser. We are working towards improving our playground and our 🦋Butterfly Garden! Help our school become even better by selling or buying from our students! There are also great prizes to win for top sellers!🎉 Due date for fundraiser is Oct. 7th.

HLES looks forward to this sweet tradition every year! Our students got to attend the Tiny Topper Pep Rally and help cheer on our Hilltoppers for tonight's game! Good Luck to our Toppers tonight. Go beat Winona!

Mrs. Tedder's 2nd-grade GT class has been working on a unit based on the I Spy book series. The students brought some of their favorite items from home and are working on writing their own I Spy poems. #HLES #WhereLearningBegins

Mrs. Scott is making math fun for her first graders by using these ten frame models!

Mrs. Griffin's class was working hard during reading, practicing skills they have been learning. They are growing each day and becoming even better readers! We are so proud of our students at HLES! #HLES #WhereLearningBegins

Ms. Brister's 2nd grade class is getting some hands-on learning with standard form, expanded form and word form by playing a matching game. They loved it!

HLES would like to give a huge THANK YOU to our amazing PTO and Stone Cold Coffee for teaming up to give teachers the chance to have some amazing coffee on this Monday morning! Your thoughtfulness got our week off to a great start!

Mrs. Boatman's class enjoyed a twist for fun Friday! Old fashion board games and puzzles were so much fun! Students enjoyed a reward for working hard all week long and being great listeners!

They have LOVED this on Fridays

Mrs. Adam's classed fiished a unit on families this week with the story of the Three Bears. They celebrated by eating bear cookies and tasting porridge. Students gave a thumbs up if they liked it and a thumbs down if they didn’t . All but 3 students liked it! 🤪To finish up they acted out the story. This was completely un- rehearsed, but it was so cute and fun!
