Mrs. Boatman's class enjoyed a twist for fun Friday! Old fashion board games and puzzles were so much fun! Students enjoyed a reward for working hard all week long and being great listeners!

Mrs. Adam's classed fiished a unit on families this week with the story of the Three Bears. They celebrated by eating bear cookies and tasting porridge. Students gave a thumbs up if they liked it and a thumbs down if they didn’t . All but 3 students liked it! 🤪To finish up they acted out the story. This was completely un- rehearsed, but it was so cute and fun!

Join us for PTO/Literacy Night Tuesday, September 1st from 5:30-6:30. We will meet for a brief introduction of our PTO officers and then go to classrooms to meet with teachers. Students will receive Topper Tokens as a reward for parent attendance.
HLES had some special visitors at our monthly student assembly to come talk to them about compassion. Compassion will be our September student of the month trait that we will focus on. #HLES #WhereLearningBegins

PTO meeting at 5:30. Following meeting, parents will be dismissed to classrooms to discuss literacy with your child's teacher! Students will receive 5 bonus Topper Tokens for parent participation! Can't wait to see you there!
A big thank you to the Town of Woodland for our new flags outside of Houston Lower Elementary! They have given us a new American flag and a Mississippi Flag. We appreciate it so much.

PTO Meeting Tuesday, August 25th. We will be electing officers, and would love for you to come join us.
We want to give a BIG thank you to Walmart in Houston for helping give back to our schools. Thanks to Mr. Horton for getting us in touch with Walmart to make this happen. Houston Lower Elementary K-2 science students will use this money for projects in our outdoor butterfly garden!
We had another full office this morning at HLES! We are so proud of all of our announcers.
