Due to the forecast of heavy rains, flash floods, strong winds, and severe weather, the Chickasaw County School District will be closed Thursday, September 12, 2024. The safety of our students, facility, & staff is our top priority. Please stay safe.
HLES PTO meeting Tuesday, September 10th, at 5:30. Make plans now to attend. We will be electing officers for this school year.
This morning we will be conducting Lockdown Drills with Law Enforcement officers at all CCSD schools. These drills are done to practice and to improve safety procedures. Again, today is only a drill.

Fall Festival is TODAY, 11/17!
We are proud to announce our 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year for Houston Lower Elementary School-Mrs. Nikki Roebuck!
Mrs. Roebuck has been teaching children for 16 years. She currently teaches kindergarten and loves to see her students blossom and fall into love with learning. Mrs. Roebuck has a God given talent for teaching littles, and it is evident in her classroom daily. We are so blessed to have her as part of our HLES family!
