Forge Your Path Career Expo
Houston Middle School 8th graders had the opportunity to experience the Career Expo sponsored and partnered by EMCC Communiversity and Mississippi Construction Education Foundation on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. The Career Expo allowed students to interact with various career options such as aviation, construction, electrical, food and health services, and welding, just to name a few. The expo encouraged each student to participate in hands-on or virtual reality activities that model each career.
The effort was designed to target and expose students to the job possibilities available to them close to home. Vocational careers do not require the same degrees or college as other careers. Trade schools enable students to focus on specific jobs and learn specific skill sets to launch their careers. Doing so would allow them to join the workforce quicker with less debt and only ambition to restrain them.
