Forecast for today: 100% chance of inspiration! ☁️⚡️
A huge thank you to Matt Labuan for dropping by Ms. Gayden’s class during science today! Our students had a front-row seat to the world of meteorology, from tracking cold fronts to the science behind the "perfect storm." Students asked questions about local weather patterns and what it’s really like to be the voice of the storm. 🌪️📖 The Toppers enjoyed their time with “ Mr. Weather Man.”

Huge shoutout to our math champions who just crushed their common assessment with a perfect score! 🏆 Thanks again Sonic for the mozzarella stick coupons.

8th grade students are engaging in station rotations today to master the Pythagorean Theorem! 📐
By switching environments and tasks every 4 minutes, students stay sharp, collaborative, and ready to ace that upcoming test. ?🔺✍️

We are incredibly proud to celebrate these students who achieved a perfect score on the recent math common assessment.
Reaching a 100% requires meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of complex concepts. Congratulations scholars, and thanks again Sonic for the mozzarella stick coupons.

Shoutout to the students who got a perfect score on their math common assessment. You’re definitely at the top of your "prime." Thanks for being such an "acute" group of learners! 📐🔢

Mrs. Mabry is a member of our PBIS team, and she contributes to student learning through scheduling and coordinating school testing. These areas are critical to the day-to-day operations of our campus and help ensure that students and staff are set up for success.
We appreciate her work and dedication to Houston Middle School and wish her a happy School Counselor Week.

Our 8th graders are taking "career goals" to the next level! After weeks of deep-diving into research—analyzing job growth, education paths, and daily responsibilities—they officially shared their expertise by hosting a Career Expo for our elementary students and community members.
It was amazing to see our older students step into the role of mentors, teaching the younger grades about everything from civil engineering to farming.

HMS ELA students are stepping back in time to 1994! 🕰️ By analyzing archival articles and digital records of the historic "Ice Century" storm, they are learning that history is the best teacher for the future.
Students are sharpening their research skills to:
• Analyze Primary Sources: Sifting through 1994 news reports and data.
• Identify Risks: Understanding the impact of freezing rain on infrastructure.
• Plan for the Future: Developing their own comprehensive Emergency Response Plans.
It’s more than just a reading assignment—it’s about using the power of information to stay prepared and resilient. 🛡️💻

He reminded students you don't have to be great to start doing anything, but you have to start to be great. All you have is the power of NOW. Never Over look Who you are.
Have a dream. Show character. Above all, give respect. 🚀
