This week Buffy “Mr. Magic” Coleman came to visit students at HMS. Mr. Magic spoke to students about setting goals, determination, and making good choices. Students enjoyed the words of wisdom and the opportunity to use their quick hands.

The PTO at HMS is raffling off two snack baskets worth $60 each. Students may purchase a chance from their teacher for $1 any day this week. The drawing will be Friday, Oct. 4th.
We are gearing up for exams at HMS September 30-October 4. Please make sure all students are present and on time.

Good morning parents! We're having a great start to our school year! Over the last two weeks, these Toppers received Positive Office Referrals! We are proud that these Toppers live our motto of being Prepared, Positive, Productive, and Polite.
This morning we will be conducting Lockdown Drills with Law Enforcement officers at all CCSD schools. These drills are done to practice and to improve safety procedures. Again, today is only a drill.

Good afternoon, parents! Our Toppers are having a busy week starting tomorrow. We are scheduled to have our PBIS Kickball Tournament on Wednesday. Thursday will be HMS Awards Day at the HHS Auditorium. Our HMS Exams will start on Friday and will end next Tuesday.
Good evening, parents! I hope everyone enjoyed Mother's Day with their families. Tomorrow, our 7th-grade Toppers will turn in their Chromebooks to the media center. Please remember to bring your Chromebook, case, and charger. If you have a 6th-grade student who did not turn in their charger, please do so tomorrow. There will be a fee for any students who did not.
