Due to a technical glitch, a call went out from Houston Lower Elementary School misidentifying students that were absent today. Please disregard the phone call.
SRO appreciation day will be this Sunday. HUES is thankful for Mr. Shea today and everyday. He is more than a protector of our campus — he is a mentor, role model, and trusted friend to so many of our students. Thank you for the care, encouragement, and steady presence you provide every single day. We are proud to have you as part of our school family.

Students from HUES Beta Club spread love and kindness this Valentine’s season by visiting Houston's local nursing home and assisted living facility to deliver gifts to residents. Their smiles and conversations brightened the day for everyone they met. We are proud of our students for living out the Beta motto, "Lead by Serving Others."

The D.A.R.E. program has been a big success with our 3rd graders at HUES! Our students have really enjoyed the lessons and love learning from our SRO, Mr. Shea. They are learning how to make smart choices, say no to peer pressure, and be good leaders at school and at home. We are so proud of how responsible and confident they are becoming!

The safety of our students and staff are our top priority. We appreciate the flexibility and understanding as we make these difficult decisions. We will continue to evaluate the current situation and make an announcement Wednesday afternoon concerning Thursday.
