But, taking one day "off" to enjoy and relax was amazing! We will continue everyday to strive towards excellence. Thank you to all of the staff and students at HUES for making this the best school around! Part 8

Mrs. Alford and Mrs. Shea correctly guessed our secret singers at HUES today! Oh what fun!

Another day of fun at HUES! Santa secretly sent lots of his elves to check on us at HUES. The teacher that found the most elves was Mrs. Sarah Thomas. She found 29 elves! Great job, Mrs. Thomas!

Lee-The week before Christmas break,HUES teachers and staff enjoy friendly Christmas related games and competitions against each other. On Tuesday, Mrs. Lee won the most bows in a rock-paper-scissors challenge. She was very competitive. Great job, Mrs Lee.

HUES had their 2nd annual D.A.R.E. Graduation/awards this morning. Very grateful to have such a wonderful program led by our SRO Mr. James Shea. During the ceremony, we took a minute of silence to remember Mr. Jeremy Voyles who was over our D.A.R.E program many years ago. Afterwards, we enjoyed a friendly game of kickball against the first responders. What a great day it is to be a topper!

Ms. Heather Boyer is our HUES teacher spotlight for this month. She is a wonderful inclusion teacher who wears many hats at HUES. We are grateful for what she does.

Thank you, Coach Ellison, for all you do.

HUES wants to give a big shoutout to Houston Auction Block and Carl King for donating all these wonderful gifts towards our annual HUES Santa Shop! Our students will love it. Our Santa Shop workers are really busy organizing now. We appreciate your kindness.

Mrs. Pounds’ homeroom were the Golden Givers, earning a pizza party for donating the most canned food items during HUES’s Jr. Beta canned food drive. They showed incredible generosity and teamwork throughout the event. Together, they brought in over 500 canned food items from just their homeroom! Thank you to everyone that made this service project a success!

HUES students are having a "Poppin' Good Time." When students meet their AR reading goals, they get an enjoyable popcorn reward to celebrate their accomplishments. This fun and uplifting celebration keeps our students excited about reading. Students get to choose from 39 flavors of popcorn with an additional 6 toppings to top off their favorite flavor of popcorn. Our students are building knowledge, vocabulary, gaining confidence, and building fluency as they read their favorite books. We encourage all of our students to read everyday.
