Teachers from Houlka, Houston, and Okolona recently participated in a day of training that was sponsored by the renewable energy company, Orsted. During this training, called KidWind, teachers learned how to incorporate several activities related to the field of renewable energy into student driven lessons that promote critical thinking, engineering, science, math, and a host of other important skills. Teachers left the day with lesson plans, online resources, and a box full of hands-on resources to help them implement the lessons into their classroom. Thank you Orsted and KidWind for providing an awesome day for teachers from all over Chickasaw County. Also, a special thank you to Jamie Mears and Kathy Jackson for making it a fun and exciting day!
