Students in Ms. Raines’ AP European History class participated in a collaborative activity connecting Unit 5 to prior units.

Using whiteboards, students built a visual “web” linking events from the Protestant Reformation to the French Revolution and beyond, explaining how and why each event connects.

This hands-on activity helped students move beyond memorization and focus on the big picture of historical cause and effect.

Good evening, Houston High School families. This is Principal Zane Thomas with an important announcement about our annual Senior Signing Day!

On Tuesday, April 14, we will celebrate our graduating seniors and their future plans—whether it’s college, the workforce, or the military. This is a special tradition where we take time to honor and recognize our graduates.

The event will begin with a ceremony in the gym at 8:45 AM, followed by a Senior Tailgate organized by our senior parents. We invite all parents, families, and community members to join us in celebrating these incredible young men and women.

If you would like to participate in the tailgate by setting up a tent or contributing in another way, please contact Mrs. Katie Miller to coordinate. She can provide information on how you can best support this special event for your senior! Your senior has put in the work to make it this far! We need your help making this event a success and special for them!

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Katie Miller at kmiller@chickasaw.k12.ms.us or at 662-456-3320 (ext. 532). We look forward to seeing you there and making this a memorable day for our seniors! Thank you, and remember, at HHS, we don’t wish for it! We WORK for it!"

In Ms. Swanson's English I class today, students took over the class to break down two of Shakespeare's famous sonnets. Students had to analyze each of the stanzas, breaking down each line. #ExpectSuccess

Today at HHS, we rolled up our sleeves and got after it! 💪📚 All juniors took part in our ACT Bootcamp, rotating through small-group sessions designed to sharpen skills, boost confidence, and fine-tune those test-taking strategies. 🎯✏️ Tomorrow’s state-mandated Junior ACT is an opportunity, and our students are ready to rise to the occasion. 🚀🔥
